IME.TEST™ - Kool Kount Assayer - 3.5 (KKA-3.5) Test
contains a different concentration of TTC when compared to
the regular Kool Kount Assayer TTC/TSB biochemistry. However,
KKA-3.5 has all the attributes of the normal KKA product
to include the same end of test color change to pink. The
altered biochemistry of the KKA-3.5 is designed to optimize
microbial concentration assessment in cooling tower waters
without the use of chemical neutralizing agents. When compared
to standard plate count for cooling tower water, KKA-3.5
has consistently generated better recovery rates than the
chemical neutralization recovery process. The focus point
of the test calibration is for the range of 104-105 cfu/ml*
concentration levels. The KKA-3.5 calibration curve was developed
and confirmed in conjunction with a nationwide supplier of
water treatment chemicals. Species dominant waters (ie: Pseudomonus
species) require a
one - time simple calibration adjustment
of 2 hours. UV illumination and or test growth patterns can
often field identify Pseudomonus species. Each KKA-3.5 comes
complete with a sample/ampoule, snapping cup, dechlorinating
solution, sample ID labels, and results/instruction chart.
KKA-3.5 test ampoules can be purchased in boxes of 30 or
as single test (Micro Inspector). Test incubation is normally
at 95° F but room temperature incubations are possible.
Incubation can be performed manually by purchasing a reusable
carry incubation tube or using a standard laboratory heat
block or oven. Automatic incubation and end of test detection
can be accomplished by purchasing
our low cost Incubator/AutoAnalyzer (model 2012). Special
test calibrations/formulations and private labeling are available
upon request.
