IME.TEST™ - Kool Kount Assayer - 0.5 (KKA- 0.5) Test is uniquely designed to optimize microbial recovery for suspected low level microbial concentrations. If the water sample to be tested is between 10(1)-10(3) cfu/ml*, KKA-0.5 is the correct product to be used. KKA-0.5 has all the attributes of the normal KKA product except that the end of test color change is a light orange. The calibration curve of KKA-0.5 is different and faster than the regular KKA test ampoules for lower level measurements. KKA-0.5 should not be used for testing applications over 10(3). Additionally, this product is not designed for sample waters with significant turbidity or tinting. The calibration curve assumes a natural waters microbial population, so species dominant waters require a one-time, simple to perform calibration adjustment. Each KKA-0.5 comes complete with a sample/ampoule snapping cup, dechlorinating solution, sample ID labels, and results/ instruction chart. KKA-0.5 test ampoules can be purchased in boxes of 30 or as a single test (Micro Inspector). Test incubation is normally at 95° F but room temperature incubations are possible. Incubation can be performed manually by purchasing a reusable carry incubation tube or using a standard laboratory heat block or oven. Automatic incubation and end of test detection can accomplished by purchasing our low cost Incubator/AutoAnalyzer (model 2012). Special test calibrations/formulations and private labeling are available upon request.

KOOL KOUNT Assayer 0.5 KIT DATA
TEST KIT SHELF LIFE - 4 years
# TESTS per TEST KIT: 30
TEST KIT WEIGHT - 14 ounces
TEST KIT SIZE - 3.25” x 2.75” x 5.25”
TEST KIT CONTAINER - Fiber box
TEST KIT TRANSPORTATION HAZARD Classification - None (DOT Ground)
TEST KIT CONTENTS: A kit contains 30 test ampoules, 1 snapping cup, dechlorinating solution, sample ID labels, Waste Water instructions and a results/instruction chart. Negative control ampoules, sample swabs and buffered sample solution must be ordered separately. When the 30 tests have been used, no replacement components are required, just order a new kit.

TEST NEUTRALIZES: Mercurial, iodine, chlorine, formaldehyde, Glutaraldehyde, Quaternary ammonium compounds, phenols, hexachlorophene, formalin and lecithin ethanol.

MANUAL TEST KIT OPERATION STEPS:
  1. Using the water to be tested, rinse the Sample/Snapping Cup 3 times and then fill with sample water.
  2. Place an IME.Test™ Ampoule tip down into one of the holes in the bottom of the filled Sample/Snapping Cup and pull back on the top to break the ampoule tip (see Step 1 on the other side of this sheet). The IME.Test™ Ampoule will automatically fill.
  3. Gently rock the filled IME.Test™ Ampoule back and forth for 30 seconds (longer if the sample is cold water) to mix the test reagent. After mixing, place IME.Test™ Ampoule in a 95 (F) degree environment (use KKA safety incubation tube in shirt pocket). Periodically, compare the ampoule color to the color card or negative control ampoule to determine end of test and test results. Or, select a control limit and look once at the IME.Test™ Ampoule.

AUTOMATIC TEST KIT OPERATION STEPS:
  1. Break the IME.Test™ Ampoule that you would like to run the test on.
  2. Dry the well mixed (no undissolved powder) Ampoule.
  3. INSERT the Ampoule into one of the test cells and close the cell cover.
  4. Press the "Cell" button until the display screen is showing the cell number you are using.
  5. Press the "Mode" button until the desired incubation mode is reached. (Total Bacteria, Total Coliform, E. Coli, Sulfate Bacteria, Fecal Coliform)
  6. Press "Start" button.
  7. Press "Enter" to begin the test.
  8. The test is finished when the display screen shows hours and count. (Example: 10.0 2e5, this indicates a test time of 10 hours and a count of 2 x 105)

Incubator/Autoanalyzer

USING as SAMPLER: If the IME.Test™ Ampoule is kept at a cool temperature, Biological growth will be delayed until the sample is brought to a proper incubation temperature. This feature can be used to take a sample at site and forward a proper sample to a lab. Or, if an abnormal field result is observed, the IME.Test™ Ampoule contents can be used for additional analysis (Biological or Chemical).
