Each IME.TEST™ - Kool Kount Assayer
(KKA) Test is a pre-dosed, hermetically sealed, vacuum ampoule.
The vacuum packaging of KKA preserves the reagent/media for
years and requires no special storage conditions such as
refrigeration. When the KKA test is started, a 7.5 ml aqueous
sample is automatically drawn into the test ampoule. The
test is concluded when the KKA ampoule turns orange or red.
The elapsed time from test start to test end determines the
level of microbial contamination (see reverse side). Test
results come as fast as 1 hour for concentrations of 10(8)
or 12 hours for 10(1) microbial concentrations. Or, KKA can
be used as a presence/absence test at 24 hours. The TTC indicator
reacts to all aerobic microbial activity in the sample to
include facultative species. Fungi are also detected and
indicated by floating red particles after 24 hours. Time/Concentration
calibrations are based upon mixed microbial populations normally
found in industrial and natural waters. Species dominant
waters require a one-time, simple to perform calibration
adjustment. Each KKA comes complete with a sample/ampoule,
snapping cup, dechlorinating solution, sample ID labels,
Waste Water instructions and a results/ instruction chart.
KKA test ampoules can be purchased in boxes of 30 or as single
test (Micro Inspector). Test incubation is normally at 95° F
but room temperature incubations are possible. Test incubation
can be performed manually by purchasing a reusable carry
incubation tube or using a standard laboratory heat block
or oven. Automatic incubation and end of test detection can
accomplished by purchasing our low cost Incubator/AutoAnalyzer
(model 2012). Special factory prepared test calibrations/formulations
and/or private labeling are available upon request. |
